Fishing Report March 19th 2026

Michigan steelhead with tailwater charters. muskegon river. fly fishing spin fishing fishing guide

Gil with a solid buck before the recent rains.

Fishing on the Muskegon has been a challenge this week. With recent heavy rains, water levels are high with low visibility. Currently the water is on the drop and should clear up by the weekend. Fishing bigger egg flies and beads in bright clown, chartreuse and pink have had their moments in the dirtier water. Fishing bigger egg-sucking sucking leaches and stone flies have also had some attention this week and last week. There is still a lot more steelhead fishing to come. Conditions should only improve going into the weekend. If I had to guess, we should see our steelhead run extend into May with winter holding its grip through March. I just had a cancelation for March 25th. Give us a call if you’re looking to get out on the river, it would be a pleasure to have you aboard.

See you on the river! -Capt. Ross
