Fishing Report September 4th 2025

A solid king that crushed a thunderstick crankbait!

We have shifted gears to our fall season here at Tailwater Charters! Kings have started to enter our northern rivers. We will be focused on fishing kings on the Pere Marquette and Manistee Rivers. We will also be doing some select late season smallmouth bass fishing on the Muskegon river this September (kings tend to run a little later on the Muskegon). By October we will be in full fall mode chasing kings and steelhead. Kings have entered the rivers and we have been seeing some decent numbers of fish moving through. Fishing big lures in the early morning hours and shifting over to float fishing beads or skein later in the day has been the most productive.
